Affordable Space Adventures is a great puzzle game, and it uses the GamePad in interesting ways that don’t feel like gimmicks. It shows Nintendo isn’t the only studio capable of doing interesting things with an additional screen. It’s nice to see the Wii U become home to a truly exclusive title trying to do something different.

This was the highlight of the session, I believe…and in fact, the game itself might be one of my highlights of the year so far. Personally, I still feel that the games that have effectively use the Wii U gamepad are few and far between. Wii U games rely too much on the novelty of being able to push everything off one screen and onto another.
